SmitFraudFix vs. MyRootkitBlocker

    This is my comparison of SmitFraudFix and MyRootkitBlocker.

    SmitFraudFix searches for specific file names then deletes those files. In a situation where the files are re-created everytime you reboot, that's not much help.

    MyRootkitBlocker places an innocuous file in place of the infected file, keeping the bad guys from re-emerging. Also, it transforms a program which functions without user awareness into a completely visible process. When the MyRootKitBlocker message appears, you KNOW that the underlying rootkit that triggered it is hiding in your "kernel".

    You are making a comparison between two unrelated pieces of software. None of the Smitfraud family of infections are rootkits and they are all easily removed. You don't need to replace files with other unknown files which would also be interpreted by most scanners as malware. And you don't need to reformat and reinstall. We fix dozens of these everyweek and we don't need to format and reinstall. False/overly creative advertising!!!! Hundreds of people get fixed up in this forum alone everyweek and there are many more similar forums. No one ever needs to "scrap their PCs"!

    If you want to submit software for review by Majorgeeks to possibly add to the file directories for download, please use the proper methods. The link on the main page title: SUBMIT NEWS is for this purpose.
