Very Slow Response

I believe this is a networking issue:
As the day passes my system goes into slowdown mode and anything i get from the LAN is very very very slow - opening word documents, saving etc etc, and if i open My COmputer it takes forever to open and display the infomation (which includes 3 links to the server).
A reboot fixes it for a while but then, after some hours it slows down.
Interesingly, the internet access is fine. There are four other PC's on the network and they do not exhibit the same problems.
I have removed the network driver and reloaded it from a fresh copy, removed all the links in My Network Places (even thats slow to open).
Suggestions?

 

Are you sure your computer hasn't been infected with adware/spyware? Just curious...

Thanks - been there, and all seems clean. Further monitoring might suggest a localised issue rather than network - so will look via a different forum.
