    Hello,

I'm using XP Pro SP2. I am the Admin and only User. I trialed Windows Live
One Care and have now uninstalled it because the subscription is unavailable
in Canada. I am now trying to re-install Zone Alarm, Norton, AVG, F Secure
etc - but in every case I get a message that the program cannot install
because I do not have Admin priviledges.

    Sample message from AVG...............

    Local machine: installation failed
    Installation:
Error: Action failed for registry key
    HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Avg7Core: creating registry key....
The system cannot find the file specified. (2)

Can anyone please advise how to fix this?

    Thanks,
    AK

    HI!
Quick question: Are you trying to install 3 Antivirus programs?

No - just any one of them. However - thanks for your reply - I've found the culprit. I run Diamond's Process Guard and it was blocking access to the Registry (which is what it is supposed to do) even after I exited the program. This morning I left it running but stopped all services and then AVG installed properly.

    Thanks again.
