Hi everyone – hoping somebody might have some advice for me.

My laptop ran into problems today – it running XP.

So when I turn it on a screen comes up saying that Windows did not start successfully that last time – this could be due to power failure etc etc.. (list of reasons)

It then give the option to start normally, last know good config, safe mode and two other options (something about network connection and command line )

When I try last known config I get blue screen of death and it shuts down.

When I try safe mode – blue screen of death with memory dump.

When I try normally – blue screen of death.

My first reaction would be to get the disc to boot it (which I don’t have – laptop is not yet a year old, don’t think the disc came with it).. but I’m not sure of this course of action – and would appreciate advice.

Last thing I installed was skype.

I have some really important files on the computer that I need urgently enough.

Could someone help? – I have currently reading the other threads on this subject – but if someone has some specific advise, I’d greatly appreciate it

    Thanks a lot
