I need help. I have no idea what a motherboard or sound card is. All i know is that I deleted something important. I have speakers - but the little volume button on the computer is gone. I have no sound what so ever. I dont know how to reinstall the sound thing? Umm.. I dont think I have a start up disk or anything like that. Can someone please help me. I really dont wanna pay 100$ at best buy for someone to fix it when I could prolly do it myself. Thank you.

oh it says multimedia audio controller not installed?

    Gosh..im so lost.

I have moved your post to it's own thread so that it will get full attention as older threads get skipped over as some have been resolved.

If you download this software and install it, once installed click Computer > Summary and that page and listings will give the details you need, eg. motherboard Name, Version and Soundcard info.

Plus which windows version are you using?
