Firefox 1.5.0.2 Problems

Anyone had issues with this version?

Every time I hit the ' key, it drops down to find, like I hit ctrl-F.

It does that here too although I didn't know about it. I've used the apostrophe key in web forms and it works as planned......it could be they purposely did that for easier access to the find bar?

 

Weak. This is the first FF bug I've seen that hampers my productivity.

I guess now I have an excuse not to puncuate

I hadn't thought so until now, but it does bring up the find box. If I'm typing an apostrophe in a text box, though, it's not a problem. See? '''''''''''''

 

It is listed in the keyboard shortcuts as the "Find As You Type Link".

 

That is just dumb.

 

This is such a pathetic oversight I'm surprised it's not in IE.

Then again, perhaps FF is figuring three-quarters of the peeps type in AOL-ese, so why not include shortcuts for it.

 

The apostrophe key is supposed to open the Find bar when you're not in a textbox, but there is a bug that crops up erratically where this happens even when you are in a textbox. I've had this problem a couple times, it went away both times. Check out the Bugzilla page, there's a workaround suggested: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=311376
