Installation Error

    Hi there, I have set up a server. Which includes

    AMD Duron 1.8ghz
    512mb DDR Ram
    60GB HDD
    CDRW
    64mb AGP 8x graphics

    I set up MASTER for the HDD, and SLAVE for the CDRW. The problem is when installing Windows2000 I get stuck at 76% installation with a " cannot copy file " error, this is the original OEM CD and its hardly used with minimal scratches. Anyone know whats causing this error? Thanks

    Would set the cdrw to master and put on the other ide channel.

    CDRW Master to one channel, and HDD Master to the second channel?

    Yes ...hard drive on primary ide ....cd on secondary ...both set to master.

    ok ive done that, booted up into Win2000 installation. But now it hangs on " starting windows 2000 " it has even setup yet.

    After setting CDRW as master on the secondary channel, if you still get an error, I'd try a different CD drive or even try Loading W2k via floppy install.
    If you havent already, clean the CD.
    Minimal scratch? Maybe not so minimal?
