My browser has been hijacked for the 3rd time this month. Do you know how I can clean the malware and also prevent it. Kaspersky does not seem to prevent it at all.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!
Since you keep causing yourself problems by using Firefox, perhaps you would be better off not using it and using Internet Explorer which does not have as many problems as Firefox.

You can try the below procedure though to cure your problems. I'm assuming you have Windows XP since you did not tell us.

We are going to be uninstalling your old version of FireFox and installing the new version. So do the below to save bookmarks:
    • Run FireFox and click Bookmarks.
    • Then select Organize Bootmarks.
    • Then on the next window click File and then select Export. Save the bookmarks.html file to your Desktop for later use in importing.
Now download and save the installer for the current version of FireFox but DO NOT install it yet. Get it here: Mozilla Firefox 15.0.1 Final

You will need exit FireFox now and use Internet Explorer to continue with the below until we reinstall FireFox.

Start by uninstalling FireFox and then reboot. Do not skip the reboot.
After reboot, delete the below folders:
    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    C:\documents and settings\UserAccount\Application Data\Mozilla

where UserAccount is the actual user account name being used.

Now reinstall FireFox from the file previously downloaded.
Import your bookmarks file. (similar process to exporting).

I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to help me with this redirect problem.

I can't uninstall firefox because my IE was damaged by AVG antivirus. I can't download anything from IE, I can't print anything from IE. I uninstalled AVG, but the problem did not go away.

So, I have to use firefox. I am not a firefox fan and never used it much, but it was on my computer when IE was damaged, so I am glad that I had an alternative.

My system is Windows XP. I am sorry that I forgot to mention that.

I ran your tool and got rid of the redirect, however something called "irp hook,driver/atapi" is on my computer. I can't seem to find an antivirus that will remove it.

Download and install the below first and use it temporarily. For myself, I like it more than Firefox.

    Opera

Once you have it up and running and you can access the internet with it then follow my instructions for uninstalling Firefox and make sure when/if it asks you to save settings that you answer NO!

    What tool?

Many irp hooks are not malware, but if you think you have malware problems, you will have to run the below and attach the logs we need:
