    Hello:

I am running Windows XP home edition. When I boot, I am always receiving this pop up asking me to "allow" or "deny" a specific activity. (see attachment). I usually just click "allow" until my next reboot. My question is, I would not like to see this pop up all the time and want to click the box "Remember this setting", but I don't know what this server thing is (svchost.exe) and am having a difficult time trying to figure out if I should permanently allow it or permanently deny it.

Any one else get this oddity?

Thank you in advance for any input.

In a normal malware-free computer, should be no problem in allowing this process.

I allow in windows 2000 but I do not allow it to act as a server. Do you have the option to allow it but not to allow it to act as a server?
