MS Office 2010 issues

I loaded a fresh version of MS 2010 several months ago to my Dell laptop running WIN 7 64 bit Home Professional. I have been having some problems lately with Outlook in that it keeps giving me the message that it is trying to download an "upgrade outlook connector". The only workaround is to reload the software from the cd. I just noticed that it has installed the 32 bit version of office 2010 on my 64 bit computer. I didn't know this was possible. I have also been having a real problem getting the Blackberry 6.0 desktop software to sych my phone with outlook. might these issues be related?
