For some reason I am not able to log onto my yahoo account from my computer anymore. I can from others computers though. This wasm never the case before today. I have tried clearing cache, etc... I have tried rebooting and checked to see if someone had changed my firewall settings, but nothing has worked. Can someone please help me. I have important info I need to retrieve.

Thank you so much to whomever helps me out!!!!

microsoft has a writeup about not being able to connect to secure sites http://support.microsoft.com/kb/Q813444. Try out those steps.

When you say you can access from other computers, are they on the same network as the non working computer?

Sometimes rebooting the modem/router can help, try turning off for a few minutes then turn it back on and wait another few minutes for it to initialise.

Are you using any internet security software, try temporarily disabling that.

Check your hosts file, located at c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc. Open it in wordpad or notepad. It should look like

    # Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
    #
    # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
    #
    # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
    # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
    # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
    # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
    # space.
    #
    # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
    # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
    #
    # For example:
    #
    # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
    # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

    127.0.0.1 localhost

thats if you are using 2000/XP.

If none of these work can you please post more info, ie OS, antivirus, firewalls etc... that you are using.

You could also take a trip to the spyware forum and see if your system is clean.
