Seeking englightenment

Hey there,

I was just reading through a site called "Computer Stupidities" (think I came across a link from this site...) anyway, under the virus section, there were at least two stories about people believing they had viruses on their systems because they each had a folder on their system that was named VIRUS.

Is or was this some sort of standard folder on any systems? because I don't quite understand the joke. The folder appears empty. Is it maybe an archive folder or something from a virus removal program?

Most likely a a folder made by an Anti-Viral program.

 

possibly the quarantine folder..

 

thats the problem with things makeing fun of other peoples misfortune is that if you dont get why they are being dumb you feel dumb :S

I doubt it would be a standard system folder. like what kodo said, probably a quaranteen folder.
