unknown virus

i have windowsxp. lately when i connect to internet a message appears windows must restart remote procedure call service terminated unexpectedly. it then counts down sixty seconds and shuts down and restarts. my blaster removal tool detects nothing neither does spy bot oe syware guard or cw shredder, any ideas what this is .

 

have you tried http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/tools.list.html i was having a similar problem with the W32sasser worm.

yes, this is all part of the RPC / DCOM exploit. You must install SP1 first then
if you can get this onto the machine

then run

to clean it out.

 

thanks for the help. i wound up using mcafee avert stinger. found a virus in three different files and zapped them. no problems since.
