    Before I had to restart everything, reformat, Firefox would have a clickable thing at the bottom of the screen to access other Firefox windows that were open, one for each copy of the browser open. Now it has just one (for IE also), with an arrow pointing down. When you click on the one, a list pops up clickable for the one you want. How do I restore the previous behavior?

    Right click on the taskbar then select properties.
    Uncheck "Group similar taskbar buttons".
