Problem with Microsoft WINMM WDM Audio Compatibility Driver

Alright, for some odd reason, this driver has decided to stop working. I've tried system restore, uninstalling then reinstalling, and nothing works. Nor can I find a download for this driver anywhere on the web. Anytime I go to get it reinstalled, it says it can not be completed because of a thread exit or application request. I'm using a Gateway 6531GZ, and any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

 

Try searching the MS knowledge base for the UAA audio driver, or do a Google search for it.... I had a very similar problem on a different model Gateway, and using the UAA solved it. I can't remember if I got it from Microsoft or from HP.... Actually, I think I did get it from HP, but it worked perfect on the Gateway....
