It's usually a real good idea to check for driver availability BEFORE erasing Vista in favor of XP to be sure that drivers even exist for the PC in question. Luckily, yours are fairly standard and easy to find, other PCs, however, don't have any XP driver support... anyway, here's the links:

Chipset (incl. video, ethernet, SMBus, etc)
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_nf4_winxp32_8.26_11.09.html

    Audio

That should do it! If you have any other questions or driver issues, be sure to let us know! Good luck!

PCI simple communication device is the dial-up modem and I can't offer a driver link without knowing the model number. The USB controller might be installed by Windows Update if you check the optional hardware updates. The PCI device is probably the audio driver....
    Here's the video driver:
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_175.16_whql.html
The sound driver should have worked; it's for all versions of Windows XP, SP1, SP2, and SP3, Home, Pro, and Media Center. It also works with Windows 2000 (all versions) and Windows Server 2003.
In the meantime, I'll try to find the modem driver (I think it's a Conexant PCI SoftModem)....

Keep us posted on your progress...

(this seems to be a common problem with Vista... people remove it in favor of XP without realizing that drivers may be an issue. It's usually possible to eventually find the right drivers, but every so often, they simply do not exist)

Try this for the modem http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...softwareitem=ob-47729-1&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN
.... or this http://www.fida.com/drivers/datacom/RD01-D850.zip (this is a direct link)
....and here's another direct link http://www.archtek.com/driver/modems/56000/Win2K_XP_prc.zip
This driver can also be found at DriverGuide which requires free registration, but you have to jump through tons of hoops to finally get to the download. Let me know how these modem drivers work, and if needed, I'll post a link for DriverGuide.

I've the same motherboard and found out it just can't work with USB 2.0 devices....gives me error saying that "HI-SPEED USB device is plugged into a non-HI-SPEED USB hub". I'm also using XP (downgraded from vista). Still figuring out how to resolve this problem. Any ideas anyone? Thanks

Thanks for the advice. I'll start a new thread on this. I was just searching and noticed that someone mentioned the USB drivers would come ready with WinXP OS. That was what I assumed also and now I hit problems. So the thought just crossed my mind whether the 'standard' drivers from the OS really fits the motherboard.

    Thanks
