Hi. I've run gone through the cleaning procedure for Windows XP and I think I've done everything correctly. But I'm having problems with video streaming from sites. It's a problem that I noticed about a month ago. I thought it might have to do with malware since I had problems with that, so I did tried to clean up following the instructions.
Unfortunately, I still have problems with videos loading and playing. It's super slow most times and playback is also slow. The video could fully load, but watching sometimes watching the video looks like it's still buffering or skipping. Not sure how I explain that. But the video looks like it's playing in slow motion.
A few times it kind of affects videos that I'm playing through GomPlayer or any player offline too, but I always think that's because my computer is slowing down. For the most part, the internet is fast as long as there aren't too many ads and other images loading. I have roadrunner, so everything other than videos load quick.

Is this a problem with malware or something else still? I would appreciate if someone could take a look at my logs. Thank you.

P.S. I'm not sure if this post belongs here. Please move if it should be somewhere else. Thanks.

You did have a good bit of malware...which the scans removed. Let's do some final cleaning and if you still are having video problems, you should post in the software forum.

You also need to clean up this:
C:\Documents and Settings\Melanie\Desktop\ --> put things in folders as this is a good place for malware to hide.

Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune. This program does not require an installation. The executable actually runs the program.

NOTE: This program is for Windows XP and Windows 2000 only. ATF Cleaner will remove all files from the items that are checked so if you have some cookies you'd like to save. Please move them to a different directory first.

    * Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
    * Under Main choose: Select All
    * Click the Empty Selected button.

    If you use Firefox browser

    * Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
    * Click the Empty Selected button.
o NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

    If you use Opera browser

    * Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
    * Click the Empty Selected button.
o NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

Click Exit on the Main ATF Cleaner menu to close the program.

    1. You can uninstall SUPERAntiSpyware now.
    2. We recommed you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware as a scanner. It uses no resources except a little disk space until you run a scan.
    3. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop & renamed it like we requested.)
    * Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
    * "%userprofile%\Desktop\combo-fix" /u
o Notes: The space between the cf" and the /u, it must be there.
o This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    * Delete the C:\cf folder from combofix.
    4. If we used SmitFraudFix, you can delete all files and folders related to it now including the c:\rapport.txt log.
    5. If we used VundoFix, you can delete the VundoFix.exe file and the C:\VundoFix Backups folder and C:\vundofix.txt log that was created.
    6. If we had you run Avenger, you can delete all files related to Avenger now.
    7. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    8. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    9. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    10. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    11. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
    * Refer to the cleaning steps in the READ ME for your Window version and see the steps to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
    * Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

    12. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Thanks so much for your help! I'm still having a slight problem, but the videos play a bit more smoothly than before. I've only played a couple videos, so I'll have to post in Software if it bothers me again.
Just a small request though...Would it be okay to ask you to edit your post and change my username under C:\Documents and Settings\MVL\Desktop\ please? It's not a big problem, but I'm not used to seeing it posted even though it's in my logs.
    Thanks again!
