    Hey guys,

I have a good friend whose laptop was dropped after he didn't zip up his bag all the way. It hit a corner and didn't do too much cosmetic damage. The computer was acting fine for a few days, then it started throwing up BSODs like crazy. I reformatted it for him, but I still get problems with the system freezing. Is there any way to pinpoint it to a specific piece of hardware that I can disable? The computer is a Dell E1705, and I downloaded and ran the Dell Diagnostic CD. It ran an hour-and-a-half long diagnostic on CPU, memory, system board, hard drive, etc, and said that all tests passed, but I'm convinced it's a hardware problem since the laptop's been reformatted.

    Any advice?

    Thanks!

possible overheating? the heatpipes could have gotten jostled around and out of place when it got dropped

Might check the memory modules and see if the drop unseated one slightly!:)

    Hey guys,

I reseated a bunch of stuff like the memory, wireless card, etc and it appears to have fixed the problem.

    Thanks!
