disk boot failure,insert system disk and press enter

    :confused: Last night the pc was working fine,I shut it down and today when I turned it on,all I get is " disk boot failure,insert system disk and press enter "
    At first when on the screen is all blue with HP invent,I have never seen that before?
    I have xp
    Please help

    Go into your bios and check if your HardDisk are still there you go into bios by pressing DElete when the first black screen appears.

    If yes try the recovery console using your xp installations disk.

    I tried what you said,no good,it goes right to the blue screen that says HP invent and the onto" disk boot failure" :eek:
    What do I try next?

    Is your drive displayed correctly in the Bios?

    Do you have a 3 1/2" disk inserted into your floppy drive? If so, eject it. This is the common error for this situation.

    Does you HD spin up or make any funny sounds (sounding tinny or clicking) during startup?
