Hmm, will that work in a regular mobo? I've seen people looking to build real Xeon servers to fold with but that really seems expensive. I'm still trying to find some folding numbers.

It is the same as an i7 format (LGA1366) so any i7 mobo will take it.

I was just checking mobo CPU support listings at ASUS and very few of their X58 boards will support that processor. Mainly the Workstation based ones.
    Too pricey for me anyways.;)

My Asus rampage 11 extreme will take it but the board is not cheap.

Here's a workstation board that one person has bought and going the inexpensive route,
ASUS Z8NA-D6C (MIO) Dual LGA 1366 that supposedly works with 56XX XEON CPU's but it needs a BIOS chip upgrade from ASUS(the chip has to be sent from ASUS or available on E-Bay), plus needs ECC memory. Before I hijack this further, let's see what mobo mun has.

Ya, way too rich for my blood ATM. Maybe next Christmas.:)
