    Hey
I searched the forums but couldn't find anything recent about this. I am looking to buy a new laptop for gaming. Not any hardcore games but just like wow, which basically any laptop can run pretty well (My old regular hp laptop played it well) but what i want is a laptop that won't over heat when I play games which why i'm looking for "gaming" laptops because I assume that those will have safeguards to prevent them from overheating and melting the hardware which is what happened to my Hp laptop.

I'm looking for something around the 800 dollar price range. These are what I've found so far but was just wondering if anyone know a particular brand that would meet my criteria and suit me better than these.

Acers a good choice when it comes to value for money I think.

There's a review of the Acer Aspire 5755G linked which gives it a good review, 4/5, although it does note that it doesn't quite give you the "full gaming experience"... but seeing as you're not wanting to run the hardcore stuff anyway I'm sure it'll be fine.

One other thing is it does have a rather business-like appearance, as opposed to the usual gaming laptop type designs.

Hope that helps anyway... I doubt you'll go wrong with an Acer for the money.

    I have an ASUS K53SV, with 6GB of DDR3 1333 and a NVIDIA GT 540M with 1GB of dedicated video memory, and an Intel i5 2410M @ 2.30GHz.

The ASUS you listed looks to be pretty much the same thing, I recommend it for price vs. gaming performance. It shines with games that take full advantage of DX11 and all 4 processor cores.
