need free program to pasword protect files

im basically a kid who wants to make my files on my parents PC so they cant look in the files.


is there a way to do this, i assume there are freeware programs out there that will do this easily for me.


my parents are pretty iliterate about computers, but they do know how to click and open files, i dont want them searching areas that are my personal stuff

 

there's a free version of cryptainer, but most operating systems let you do this by creating either passworded folders or passworded compressed files. Parents are usually smart enough to figure out there's something you are hiding though.
