After finding a bit of malware and rolling back Windows 7 to a known working level under system restore, I have lost my network connections and cannot create one. The malware was cleaned up under the expertise of Kestrel13!, but we could not identify why conenctions would not restore. This appeared to be similar to another problem we fixed in which afd.sys was bad. But, it APPEARS to be a good file.
Looking for expertise on what to test and try for. Also, the network troubleshooting / help routine is gone now on the computer, so it can't be used. A pox upon the houses of those that built something so destructive and evil, and their evil coupon web sites!

Sounds like you have some corrupt system files.

Are all your devices recognized in Device manager? Make sure you aren't missing network drivers. Run an SFC /scannow in an elevated CMD prompt and that will find any corrupt dlls and attempt to repair them. You may need to run this off of a recovery disk if you don't have a recovery partition
