my current comp setup is overheating like no other. i got a P4 2.8Ghz w/ HT, and the overheating is most likely to do with the fact that my room sits above the house's water heater. the heatsink is fine, ThermalTake Volcano (worked good on previous comp), and i have set a fan in front of the comp (left the side of the case open), and the temp is steady at about 109°F (ya that's bad).

basically i want your opinions on which of the following products i should get. my requirements is that i want to water cool my cpu, vidcard, and possibly harddrive. My current case is a ThermalTake Xaser III, so there's plenty of room.

    Corsair Xtreme Water Cooling System
    ThermalTake Aquarius III

    *notes*
If i get either of those, how would I get my vidcard to get cooled as well?

If you going to water cool, and want the best performance, you should start from scratch and build your own kit.

This way you can customize the waterblocks, to fit you needs.

If you do get a kit, you can buy a water block for the GPU, and some extra tubing. Make sure your pump can handle a little more.

Me IMO would never water cool. It does great things with the heat, but there is allways the risk of a break, or a leak...then your screwed.

If you have your eyes set on watercooling, talk with some of the people here. They can lead you down the correct path, and tell you what to look out for. :)

the hydrocool is a very nice kit that can be modded a little for better performance gain. the thermaltake one is just plain crap; don't buy it.

anyhow, if you're willing to go the DIY approach on this, here are some pointers:

use 1/2" ID (inner diameter) tubing for best results
use metal hose clamps to avoid leaking, and always clamp it right past the dip of the nipple to avoid any leaks
check out dangerden and whitewater waterblocks. swiftech blocks are good, but i don't like how you'll need an adapter to use those things.
swiftech and via agua waterpumps are the best in their respective price range
get a heatercore radiator (like the cars use... except small enough for 120mm fan)
    panaflo is your friend...:)

hrm... or if you want an alternative to water, because, yes, leaks are bound to happen at some point. and changing the water every few months is a must, and is annoying... check out the thermalright line of heatsinks at

    http://www.heatsinkfactory.com/

definitely cheaper and less risky than watercooling with similar results

    i agree with strogg,

thermalright heat pipe technology is a very good product..assuming it fits your mobo....the xp-120 models only fit some select models while the xp-90 fit all models...

it is very efficient just look at the reviews

you can buy them online at www.xoxide.com or my big time favorite www.bigfootcomputers.com

i know canada, but we like to keep things cool around here...-20degree cool ;)
