IE6 Getting virus Page Cannot Be Displayed http 404

    Hi,
    I have joined this forum to see if you can hepl me with a problem i'm having on IE6.

    Normally when you type a website address in wrong it brings you to a plane 'Page Cannot Be Displayed', mine dosent.

    By accedient I noticed it showed this

    Can you help?

    I think it is a toolbar company, its releated to quickbrowsersearch.com

    Any help would be really great :) ,

    Please follow the steps below:

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

    Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.


    After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis:

    Hi,
    I tried spybot, trendmicro and adaware like I always do and it didnt find anything. So i traced down the website and it was 'Quick Search', I installed some Active-X from that website to deactivated the 404.html.

    Is this ok?Below is the website i downloaded it from.

    No! Bad idea! You should have follow the instructions I gave you!

    Spybot will not even look for new.net unless you configure it properly as per the READ & RUN ME

    Ok, i have done system restore and now its like it was.

    I have run spybot 'immunize' and it banned about 700 more websites, what shall I do next?

    Just give me quick instructions, i am currently looking through your rules.

    I did what you said and it worked,

    The new.net had installed its self a program, and probly put its self in hidden folders as well.

    I also think the email virus stuff has gone, (touch wood)
