My search results on internet explorer get redirected to other web sites that have nothing to do with what the search result was. I did the "Read & Run Me First" thread and it did not find anything with Spybot, Windows Defender, Counter Spy, or AdAware. I had a problem with Bitdefender- internet explorer crashed back to the desktop. Panda ActiveScan- completed the scan, found 142 spyware, and when I tried to save the report, internet explorer froze. Tried 2 times- same result. I'm attaching the log files.

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

Please see step 3 of the READ ME. You must only use one antivirus application. You have THREE installed.
    • BitDefender 8
    • McAfee
    • Windows Onecare - I'm assuming this includes an antivirus.
You MUST only use one antivirus and you must never install a second (or more) while another is already installed. Uninstall all but one.

Also does Windows Onecare include a firewall. If so, you then also have two firewalls installed.

    Please answer the below questions!

You have the below realtime blocking antispyware applications all installed:
    • Ad-Aware SE Pro - I assume this is paid subscription. Do you keep it current?
    • Norton Spyware - This looks to be from Yahoo! Is it more than a scanner.
    • OneCare - Is this a paid subscription or a free trial version. And is my assumption correct that this had antivirus, antispyware, and firewalls included.
    • Spy Sweeper - Is this a paid subscription or a free trial version.
    • Sunbelt CounterSpy - Is this the free trial from the READ ME! If so, uninstall it now.
    • Windows Defender
I also see folders from Spyware Doctor and SUPERAntiSpyware which appear to be uninstalled. Delete these folders:

    C:\Program Files\Spyware Doctor
    C:\Program Files\SUPERAntiSpyware

    1. Now download this file - combofix.exe
    2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
    3. When finished, it will produce a log for you. Attach this log to your next reply
    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Please run this procedure: WareOut Removal and attach the requested log afterwards.

Now Run HijackThis and select the following lines if they still exist but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{21E48E93-A70F-4D5F-8667-A02D4AD99D77}: NameServer = 85.255.115.155,85.255.112.77

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Look for the below file and delete it if found:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\CMMGR32.EXE

Now attach the below new logs and tell me how the above steps went.

    1. ComboFix log
    2. FixWareOut log
    3. GetRunKey
    4. ShowNew
    5. HJT - please remember that you MUST NOT use msconfig to control startups - see step 0 of the READ ME
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!
