I have a problem now, where my computers won't access a certain site. "www.thewantad.com" maybe more but I havn't found them yet. Two and a half diffrent browsers have the same result the DNS server error. My main browser is my MSN which takes me to MSN search which lists the page on msn search when I click on it there it does nothing. On to IE where I get the server error right off the bat. I thought since those two browsers are built on the same technology I installed Firefox and got the same error. Hete are the other aspects to this problem, this is a brand new computer, in service for less then three weeks, with no spyware or virus' on it. Second
i build and repair computers and have a laptop, a second computer on a diffrent site and still have the same problems with each of them. Finally to be sure it wasn't the site I went on my Grls computer and got right on with AOL. It can be a browser setting, or a network problem, but I have no problems with any other web sites so far. Hope I get some help.

One more thing I read a post on another site that said clean out the host file, but mine was empty other then local host.

Is the computer that you got it working with on the same connection as yours. If it is not try bringing your computer to that connection and hook it up and see if it works. If it works then you will know thats it the service providers problem.

Thanks for the thought I never would have thought that could be the case. Here is what I did, I brought my laptop to my girls house and with the same exact set up and got on fine. Now not my ISP, but either my DSL or my network is to blame. How could either one block my access. I can plug my primary computer directly into the DSL modem to test and that would isolate which one is the problem. How will I fix it once I know which one it is, I went looking through my Wireless router the other day and didn't notice anything that said block these sites. Also I set up both acounts mine and my girls, both networks, and I didn't do anything different in either case.

I feel I know quite a bit, but every day there is some annoying little bull$hit that tells me I don't know everything.

Why don't you reconnect the computer the way you initiall had it, get connected the to the network and run an IPCONFIG /ALL try to determine what DNS servers you are using. Perhpas you wern't grabbing them correctly from your ISP.
