   What Windows version software are you using?
   Have you tried the CD in another PC?
   
   Whya may have happened is the upper and lower filters that deal with accessing a CD could become corrupt with installing various software's that access the CD, so to see if this is the cause follow this https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929461
