NTLDR is missing

    What does this meanconfused

    THis occurs when instaling windows on a machine,
    The HD formats succesfully as well as copying files but i get this message after it automatically reboots.....confused

    Help would be most appreciated?????????

    PC Specs
    Motherboard.....Not sure intel somthing
    Processor ...........Intel Pentium 4 1.29ghz
    RAM..........2 X 256mb
    HD.............Hitachi 160gb
    DVD RW

    and trying to install WIN XP PRO

    Two things come to mind:
    One is that you need to run a drive utility from the manufacturer on the HD.
    Second...in the bios, do you have virus protection enabled ...which would stop the system from writing to the MBR?

    If you don't know what the HD is, you will need to take the case off the tower and disconnect the drive and see if it is seagate/maxtor/etc.
    Then put it back in and using another puter ..go to their website ..they should have downloadable dirve utilities.

    My bad ...if you can get into the bios ..it might report what the hd is ..
