I recently downloaded a program so that I could use a .iso file. Well that program installed a temporary cd drive (I think). Anyway, I've deleted ALL traces (to my knowledge) of the program but the cd drive is still there. I only have ONE cd drive so I know it's not meant to be there.

It's a virtual drive, used to run .iso files like a "real" CD and drive.

Go into the program and set it so it doesn't use it (best way), or TweakUI has a feature to hide it, but it doesn't remove it.

I got rid of the program in the hope of also getting rid of the drive (which it should have done presumably) and now I can't remember what the program was called.

Do you have TweakUI, can you right-click the virtual drive in My Computer and remove it, or is it listed in Add/Remove?

Sometimes you can also remove them in Device Manager.

Try going into Device Manager, check out your drives, and see if it's showing there. If so, uninstall it from there, reboot, and see if it shows up again.
