    Hi.

I have never installed a new PSU before. I just bought a new PSU for my old PC. However after removing the old PSU and going to install the new PSU I noticed this [image 1]. There is a 4-pin connection that accepted a cable built into the old PSU [image 2]. This is the PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139048. Can I ever get it to work on the old PC?

Out of curiosity I looked at my newer PC [image 3]. Would that new PSU fit the newer PC? Could an 8-pin connection work?

    Thanks.

Does the 8-pin for the CPU connection split in half?

According to the specs, there is an 8 pin connector for the CPU 12v supply on the 600W. If it doesn't split into 4 + 4, you can use it on the newer one, and roll that into the older PC.

:-o My bad, I should have looked closer at the cables. Yes, the 8-pin cable can be split into 2x4-pins.

    Thanks. :wave
