    Hi Wendy

Not easy to stop the spam I'm afraid, never click those unsubcribe links as while this one seems to not have worked if the unsubscribe email or you goto a webpage they are just ways to actually tell the spammers that the email they guessed on is actually a live working one so that will get sold on to other spammers.

What mail blocker are you using, plus what email application? what I tend to do is to in Windows Live Mail as I use that one as well as Outlook 2007, is to in WinLiveMail to right click and add sender to blocked senders list, as well as use the titles they send these emails with to a Rule, rules are if you dont know ways to monitor emails and senders and do specific tasks with those emails like forward, delete, auto reply and in the spam case delete.

Mailwasher Free is ok, only monitors one email address, but works fine to monitor your emails, just dont set it to bounce emails back as that is as I mentioned above a way for spammers to know an email address is live and working.

    Hi Wendy

Yes Spamfighter should help you alot and do go through the quick guide they have here on its usage, may help you.

How they got there, well I have 5 email account and all have spam, the problem is that the spammers have applications that generate random email addresses based of what could be real ones so they could try bob@bob.com, billybob@bob.com, bobbilly@bob.com bob1@bob.com etc etc and just send out spam to those, they dont really care if any are not real its the ones that sadly suck an innocent user into replying or buying something or worst in clicking a link in the email and becoming malware infected from these emails that give them the goal they where after so if only 1 email in 1000 gets a responce out of the millions they send out they are winners and could in some cases con money out of some users!

Yes indeed do just delete them and flag them as spam in your filter and hopefully over time they will become less and less.

Never click an unsubscribe link in unsolicited emails because that just generate more emails.

If it is for a known product or newsletter that you signed up for, then it is safe to unsubscribe but if it is for some offer that you did not request, grab the address, put it into your block address list and delete the email.
