Can anyone please help me for this problem is driving me nuts?

I accidently knocked off the power supply at the mains socket when i was running my pc. I am running windows 98 OS and now when i switch it on it will only boot into safe mode.

No matter how many times I re-boot only safe mode runs. Can anyone tell me a way of getting my operating system to boot into normal mode.

    Thank you

When it boots into safe mode can you then run scandisk? Or has scandisk already run? Try selecting normal startup when Win98 boots-- I think it gives you a few seconds to make up your mind about how you want to start; safe mode, normal, interactive, etc.

Sounds like a corrupted file somewhere. If this started recently boot to the DOS prompt and then type: SCANREG/RESTORE then pick a date before the problems started and see if that helps.
