I am having trouble with my system. Some pictures now come up with a red X instead of the image itself, the properties show no type. Also, 1/2 of the websites that I now try to go to get a 'page cannot be displayed' error. I have not downloaded anything new, and this was working this morning.
I have reset all defaults in IE 6 and I am running Win XP Home SP2. I have even tried restoring my system back a few days but this also did not help.

    Any help? Please?

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

This may or may not be malware. Sometimes this is just the result of blocking to much with Internet Explorer or with your firewall software. The only way to know if it is really malware is for you to follow the steps below.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
      • Bitdefender
      • Panda Scan
      • HijackThis

Thanks for the reply. I cannot do most of the steps in the read me because I would need to download software or go to websites. I do have HiJack but it is the older version. I have also run SpyBot and have removed everything in there, except for Cydoor, which has been on my system for years and should not be the cause of this issue.
If you can still help, I have attached the HiJack log. If not, thanks for your time :)

Everything is downloadable here at Majorgeeks except the online scans. Please explain why you cannot download and run the steps as asked. Without doing them, there is not to much I can do to help you.

You did not even follow the directions in the READ ME at all. Not even step 7 for installing HijackThis properly. You are running it from the exact location we specify not to run it.

I could not download because I would get page could not be displayed when the window would come up for the download.
I do believe that I have figured out what the problem is though.
It appears as though there is a firewall inside my router that was having problems. Once I reset the router and left it off for 1/2 hour, when it came back up, I was able to get jpg's and into any website.

    Thanks for the help though!!

That was what I suspected in the beginning of message # 2 where I mentioned a firewall.
