I just got a dvd that is supposed is able to write 8 plus gigs on to a dvd. One problem is that I have no idea on how to use it. It came with Nero (express 6, in cd 4 nero express 2 , nero backup kit, mpeg 2 svcd/dvd plug in) I can write to a dvd but only the normal a=mound of space.4.7 gigs. Any ideas???

Are you using dual layer DVD discs (DVD+R DL or DVD-9)? The old DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW discs will only hold 4.7 GB because they have only one recording layer while the dual layer discs have two layers of recording material, allowing up to 8.5 GB of storage. They are available at electronics stores both real ( http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...78631&productCategoryId=cat01163&type=product ) and online ( http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=17-130-954&depa=0 ), and I've even seen them at Wal-Mart.
