problem with retrieving sony cam pics

can you help?
me and my boyfriend have been trying to fix a friends comp but have run across a problem. We need to retreive her pics that have been deleted because of having to install a new operating system. All we know is that the pictures were downloaded from a sony camera and there are over 63000 files to searc....:cry :banghead

 

There are several apps that will find pics for you, if they were added back onto the hard drive, AFTER re-installing the OS. If they weren't, they were more than likely lost, unless you have your OS on a seperate HDD. One I know that will do this is:
