Hello, can you help me please?

Earlier this week my dad's computer became infected with the "ukash met police virus". It worked in safe mode and I was able to restore to a previous version of windows and then performed a scan with malwarebytes. It didn't find the trojan and I am not computer literate enough to find it myself. I ran a scan with windows defender and that found no problem either.

The computer now has the "please wait while the connection is beeing established" white screen. I get this screen in normal and safe mode and cannot do anything. I cannot perform any of the tasks outlined in your read and run me first area.

His computer runs on windows 32, vista which I couldn't see in any previous advice threads.

    Kind regards

    Gemma

NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system

    Attached is fixlist.txt
    • Save fixlist.txt to your flash drive.
    • You should now have both fixlist.txt and FRST.exe on your flash drive.

    Now re-enter System Recovery Options.
Run FRST and press the Fix button just once and wait.
The tool will make a log on the flashdrive (Fixlog.txt).
Please attach this to your next message. (How to attach)

    Now attempt to boot normally.

    Wow! :-D

That seems to have done the trick: I really cannot thank you enough for your help.

It is back up and running - I assume now that it is a good idea to go through your 'read me first' list and get rid of a lot of the junk and unecessary stuff that he has on it?

    Thanks again!
