I have a RAID system in place and working, and I'm trying to add an extra hard drive to my system, just for the extra space and not as part of the raid portion. I can't get my computer to detect that it is there in Windows or in the bios. Where should I start to troubleshoot this?

If you are running your RAID array off of the IDE/SATA ports on your motherboard, I seem to recall that you can't use all the SATA and IDE ports at the same time. You might start by checking your motherboard manual.
