Laptop Keyboard Help Please

ok I have a dumb question for the day, I have a laptop that was given to me and it runs great. My 10 year old started using it and now the keys that have the numbers on them when you hit that key types the number and not the letter. Example the P key has a 6 in the upper right corner of it and when you hit P you get the number 6 How in the heck do I get it to go back to normal? I have been pressing every button I can think of and cannot get it to go back the right way. UGH! and my daughter has no idea what she did either to make it start doing that and I do not have a manual for the computer it is a COMPAQ EVO N600C anyone that is familiar with laptop keys with this extra feature please chime in and help me solve this - it really sucks when you try to type PIG and end up with 6IP LOL

 

What happens when you hit the Num Lock key?

You may have to hold the Alt key with this key. It depends on laptop. Some laptops require you to hold the FN key while hitting another key. Try the Num Lock key by itself, then with combinations of of the Ctrl, Alt, or FN key.

 

I have not yet hit the num lock key that one did slip my mind I will try it thanks for the reply. I will keep you posted.
