Reading thru the other letter with my problem made me feel really dumB. I didn't understand most of what was said, but hope you can help me any way. I have absolutely no sound on my Northgate computer. I have Windows 98 and have no clue what audigy is. I use WinAmp (not sure what version). The checks in the speaker section are all unchecked. I tried reinstalling the driver to no avail. I even went so far as to do every step of the Windows help section, but ended up only able to log on in Safe Mode. I hope someone out there can help a novice...PLEASE? Thank you for reading.

Did you try the newest drivers from http://www.creative.com ? That is if you have an audigy.

Check motherboard and get latest drivers there as well.

I have to assume it worked before? In which case the sound card is on and working in your BIOS.

I need your system specs to be helpful. This thread at the bottom explains how to do that:
