Firefox Search Bar hints question

Ok I use the Firefox 2.0 and in the search bar you can use Google, Yahoo, ebay, webster, etc etc etc..... Well my question pertains to the format of the search bar in Firefox 2.0 all you have to do is type one or a few letters to be given a "hint" of what you are possibly searching for. Well I would like to know how to remove this feature so it doesn't offer any "hints" of what I am possibly looking for.

Confused?? What I am saying is maybe I want to search for Computers I type in co and it gives me a list of "hints"/suggestions such as costco, comcast, consumer reports, to name a few..

I can even get to erotic sites by typing in erot not sure of anything out there that starts with that right off hand that my kids would type in but I want to make sure that they don't have that right at their fingertips and just have to click on a word that would take them to where they can view sexual sites.

So, does anyone know how to be able to get rid of that feature?? Sure it is useful for us adults but I would prefer not to have that available to my children.

Heh! This is what worked for me:

1. Launch Firefox
2. In the address bar, type 'about:config' (without the quotes)
3. Find a value called 'browser.search.suggest.enabled'
4. Set this value to false

Firefox should now stop offering 'hints'.
