Unable to install Windows updates

Hello,

I am unable to install the windows updates for Microsoft Office 2003 SP3 and .NET framework 1.1
I have installed and shut down, installed 1 by 1 and still they appear on the next start up.

I have run Ccleaner, and all the malware tools and it is clean, This is a legitimate version of all software.

This is driving me mad.

 

There was a tool for such problems.

You can try it if you're using one of the mentioned operating systems.

You did not mention what version of windows you are running.
Did you go through windows update or the catalog or both?

What security programs are running? Do you have something like WinPatrol running also?

This is going through Windows update and Auto updates.
Running Trend Micro Security Agent

Never used Winpatrol

Office 2003 SP3 I have downloaded from the catalog and run the file, but this also fails to update.

You might try running this MS Fix it, then see if the Office update will run...

Not trying to take the easy way out here, but is there a reason why you are still on Windows XP?

 

Because I like XP. I have software that runs well on it and it will be patched until August 4th 2014. Maybe his/her reasons are similar.

 

Its a work computer and they denote I have to run XP, many of the systems I have to access do not work with windows 7

I have removed all the .net framework and now been able to install the update associated to this.
I am now offered Office 2007 SP3 as an update so will try removing MS office and reinstalling.
