Ok so this is a problem I have been trying to fix for almost a week. No matter what url i put into the browser i get " This page can't be disabled ". I can ping google and yahoo but not get to their pages. I am accessing the web through my PS4 right now. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

You failed to give us information so you can get help.
    1. Version of Windows with Service Pack
    2. Browser with version
    3. How do you connect to the internet
    a) wired or wireless
    b) cable, dsl, satellite
    c) what is your ISP? DNS?
    4. Have you reset modem? Is there a router?
    5. Just 2 devices on your network or more? If more give info about the other devices.

No easy solution I suspect but what do you get if you click on Set up a new connection or network > Connect to the Internet in Network and Sharing Center? It should say you are already connected to the internet.

Yeah it says already connected but I can't even access my router.

That sounds like a browser issue. Is it the same in both Chrome and IE?

Yes, and it was the same in opera as well. I uninstalled opera thinking could reinstall but I can't find my install file now

This is the last thought I have on this atm - try setting a fixed IP for the laptop and rebooting it. Put it high to avoid any conflicts with existing connections, for instance 192.168.x.99

    Download the AVG removal tool
    http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/avg_remover.html
Run it; you will probably get errors if you uninstalled some of AVG but keep running it then reboot.

Cox is a cable company, not dsl

After you've scrapped off the remnants of AVG, test the internet connection again. Does it work? If not, then, I'd like you to connect by a wire. This will rule out a problem with the wireless adapter in your laptop.

Ok so i ran then avg remover and still cant connect. I found the Why cant i connect program here and ran it and this is what i got if it helps

    Fri Jan 30 20:41:04 2015
    Connect to an FTP Server
    Name / IP Address: 74.50.120.86
    Port: 21

    Fri Jan 30 20:41:04 2015
    Local host name: Ice-1

    Fri Jan 30 20:41:04 2015
Could not find a bindable IP address from the host name: Ice-1
    Port: 0
    Error code: 10106
Error message: Service provider failed to initialize.
    Possible reasons are:
    Your DHCP server is down.
The machine name is not in your hosts file.
The chosen port is already being used.
    You mistyped the IP address.
    Your network connection is down.

i can still ping both url's and ip's. ok so what do i do next guys.

    Try this Fix-It: http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9848640

What about a direct connect to the router instead of using wireless?

What is the IP of a working computer and what is the IP of a non-working computer?

If you were to reboot with networking does that work with browsing?

tried both wired and wireless, same results. ip is registering as .15 like normal. and i tried safe mode with networking both wired and wireless and still cant load in browsers but i can still ping both url's and ip's.
