I have had some experience in removing virus and spyware, but this is beyond me. I'm currently on my dad's computer. I can't exactly do the steps to remove them yet for the following reasons:
What tipped me off that something was wrong was when I boot up to the desktop the computer will either just lockup or run for little while then lockup or when I try to open programs it will come up with various errors. It started with going to the blue screen and the error would be along the lines of (explorer caused a protection fault) or something like that. I got a virus-spyware removal from walmart called 10-in-1 Defender Pro. After trying several times I finally got it installed and ran a virus scan and it found and deleted four trojans. Spyware found and deleted 6 things. I updated the info database on the virus scan after repeated attempts(it would lock up or go to blue screen with error) and ran it again and removed another 15 trojans/trojan downloaders. I haven't been able to update the spyware remover because everytime I click update it'll go to the blue screen with an error.
The computer still locks up or goes to the blue screen, and I'm still having the same problems.
The problem is I can't download anything to do the steps on the link here, because of these problems. What advice can you guys/ladies give me. Should I try downloading to this computer, burn it to a disk, and then try to install and run on mine?

    Thanks for the help.

Yes! Download the applications to another computer and burn them to a CD and then try to get them onto your Dad computer. Make sure you extract all the programs that come in .ZIP file first so they are ready to run. You did not mention an OS. So I'll assume XP. Make sure you disable system restore and reboot. See if you can get them installed and run them (note: some do not need to be installed). See if you can run the online scans from safe mode (if you have networking support in safe mode).

What do you mean "Spyware found and deleted 5 downloaders". What program do you mean by "Spyware"?

Thanks I'll give it a try.
OS is ME, and I meant the anti-spyware program.

WinMe has a system restore too, so disable it.
Be specific! What anti-spyware program? Are you saying 10-in-1 Defender Pro is a virus and anti-spyware combined? Never heard of it anyway.
