vista explorer.exe corruption help!!

hi i use vista ultimate 32-bit, and ares, i have ares downloading 24-7 so im not sure if this is causing the problem or not, basicaly when the pc is sat idle just downloading for hours, explorer, the start menu, taskbar and everything explorer related crashes, becomes corrupt graphicaly, i have to open task manager and restart the process, this happens every single morning when i return to my pc before i leave for work explorer has gone again, i restart it and its garenteed to be gone again before i return, i read somwhere online about explorer crashing when vista is used as a server, but does using ares (latest version btw) count as a server? my vista is fully up to date with automatic updates turned on, and i regularly check for optional updates to, im also religous about anti-malware software updates, i check for updates every couple of hours! any ideas would be great thankyou.... :major i-CONICA :major

vista keeps corrupting, neet to restart in Task Mgr.. all files updated.. all av's checked.. all spy/mal ware checked.. i use ares but not as much as the person before me..
