Second computer wired to Linksys wrt54g, flashed with dd-wrt. Unable to connect to internet, but able to ping another PC on the network and vice versa. Both windows and router firewall turned off, all other PC's on the network can access the internet fine. If I unplug the problem PC from the router and directly connect it to the cable modem I'm able to access the internet after a ipconfig /renew. TCP/IP connections are set to automatic for IP and DNS, and automatic private IP address. Below are some cmd pastes. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I'm having a similar problem with an XP machine, but we are using a Sonicwall router. The computer has a wireless nic and an internal wired connection. Both receive their IP info via dhcp, but neither can see outside the local network except by IP only. When on the wired connection the computer receives dhcp from a server, but on wireless receives ip from the Sonicwall on a different network range. Other computers in the system work fine.

So inside the network I can ping by IP or hostname, but on the internet I can only ping by IP. Have tried manually configuring dns, blowing out tcp-ip, clearing arp cache, and removing nic drivers and reinstalling with updated drivers. No luck.

I don't know if any of those other options would clear up your issue, but might be worth trying.

I was beginning to wonder if malware was involved, but that doesn't seem to be shaping up either. Very frustrating.

None of those suggestions did anything, forgot to mention that I reformated my hard drive and did a clean install to hopefully fix this issue. Also it's a laptop with a integrated wireless card that has recently stopped working, unable to manually turn on the card, which is why I'm trying to connect via a wired connection to a router.
