Unusual Virus & Browser Functioning

Starting about 21 Oct, my 2nd pc refused to allow Avast updates, simultaneously my son was using Gamefudge.com, which seemed to be producing many ad-type, low sec. problems.

Ive just completed all Read & Runme's, using shorter version, but have been able to now access net from problem pc via sygate personal firewall but never via Firefox or IE. Yahoo messenger also works. Avast updates not working, even with new dload & reinstall.

NOT ALL the READ/RUNMEs worked also. Just getting the system online I ran BitDefender but it stalls at 98% and no rpt produced. Possibly main 1st prob. is to get Avast Home Ed. working & allowing proper scan there, as current scans rpt list of files unable to scan.

 

Further tests using yahoo search to websites proved that it was working okay on this path. Thus, I uninstalled mozilla & avast & re-installed both, with no net connection. Avast with net connected then worked, as also did mozilla & IE (new shortcut). Full tests now confirm all working well, concluding final safe-mode scans from READMEs did their job. Patience with some scans essential. Tks for reply & help.
