My friend's CRAZY computer...

So, I'm fixing a friend's pc, and he has never even looked at something before clicking yes to it online. He's also never used any kind of protection on his pc (apparantly he likes it raw...). So now I'm trying to get rid of all the shit and I've put all the basic protection software on there, but there still remains the agent.167 trojan as well as numorous browser modifiers. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!

We require our full clean procedure be run (ALL steps) in the order written before we will look at HijackThis logs. Please follow the steps below.

- Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

- Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.


After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem:

- Download HijackThis 1.99.1

- Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

- Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

- Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

- Run HijackThis and save your log file.

- Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

I gues I didn't make it clear enough, enough I said that I had the basic stuff I meant all of that. I've used that page tons of times before and usually all the stuff will clear up any problems, but it didn't. Everytime I run the trojan program it finds Agent.167 and then tries to clear it but it can't. and then when I restart it tells me that the files it wants to delet can't be found, but it finds them again as soon as it starts to search. What should I do now?
