    Hi, new here. I've spent a couple days now trying to resolve my problem but I'm out of solutions.

    I'm getting the:

    Run-time error '339':
    Component "MSCOMCTL.OCX" or one of its dependencies not correctly
    registered: a file is missing or invalid.

    So I've tried the most common fix. Yet, when I run the regsvr32 command I get an error saying:

    THe module "MSCOMCTL.OCX" may not compatible with the version
    of WIndows that you're running. Check if the module is compatible
    with an x86(32-bit) or x64(64-bit) version of regsvr32.exe.

    I'm running Vista Ultimate 64-bit obviously. I've done a lot of searching, but so far I have not come across a MSCOMCTL.OCX for a 64 bit system. Does it even exist?

    I've also tried all the other solutions posted in the forum to no luck.

    Any advice would greatly be appreciated!

    okay, so I've finally realized that the MSCOMCTL.OCX needs to be placed in the windows/syswow64 folder (stupid me).

    I still get a:

    The module "MSCOMCTL.OCX" was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed
    with error code 0x8002801c.

    Is there something I need to unregister first before trying to register MSCOMCTL?

    Windows 7 x64

    Copy mscomctl.ocx into your c:\windows\SysWOW64 folder

    1.Start Menu
    2.All Programs
    3.Accessories
    4.Command Prompt(Right Click Run as Admin)

    <Within Command Prompt>

    Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7600]
    Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

    C:\Users\xxxxxxx>cd c:\windows\syswow64

    c:\Windows\SysWOW64>regsvr32 mscomctl.ocx

    <Complete>

    should get a confromation and your all done

    =================================================

    Should be about the same for Windows Vista

    1st) if you run the command prompt as admin you would get :

    <Within Command Prompt>

    Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7600]
    Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

    C:\windows\system32\

    <Complete>

    so you shouldnt run it as admin, cuz you cant erase that.

    2nd) Done it, got the confirmation, but still when i try to run the program, it keeps throwing me the same Error.

    Any ideas??
