Getting used to a new mouse

I bought a new Logitech cordless keyboard & mouse...you know, being in a condo, if I point the mouse right out the living room window at the neighbors, I can reboot his computer :D

LOL. Can you change his TV channels as well?

When I was a kid, my neighbor's son had muscular dystrophy, and among other things, I built up some decent slot cars for him and took him with me to the big commercial tracks to run them (big at the time). He had a fair track set up in his living room, and the gear whine from one of the slot cars would change his dad's TV channels at high speed. Early remote system used audible sounds to control the TV. Dad was pretty tolerant.

I bought a Logitech MX Laser and it has something like 12 buttons. I use 2 of them.

I have not tried pointing things at my neighbors. Californians are a bit of a paranoid lot....

When cable started with their new remote, it was a small remote…..I used to take it with me, when visiting friends, leave it in my pocket, and change their channels, a few never did figure that it was me…….wobbles

This mouse is much more sensitive than my old one; I muttered "damn mouse", and it cried

My old HP PocketPC had a built in IR remote that worked with virtually anything. I used it to change channels on TVs at work, mess around with volume settings in Best Buy, etc, etc. :D :D

Download the latest Logitech Mouseware software. It has sensitivity adjustment from OprahWinfrey to Howard Stern. but be cautious of the extreme Howard end of the scale or your mouse may crap on your mousepad.

Downloaded & installed; I set it to the Howard Stern setting and now my mouse is chasing Abby's mouse all over the living room :D

I have a trackball mouse at home which I love, but most people hate it when they use my PC.

Our son and wife recently bought one of those snazzy remote controlled tower room heaters. Trouble is everytime they use the remote to turn the temperature down it also changes the TV channel :D

Hmmm...I wondered what the black stuff was on the bottom of the mouse. And I thought it was just dirt. Silly me.

I use and I.R. mouse and keyboard on some of my computers. Sometimes I get absent minded when the phone rings, and put the mouse in my pocket (it's a pretty small one), then I forget what I did with it and spend some time wondering where I left it.

Lucky my keyboard doesn't fit in my pocket, I guess.

It doesn't take much to entertain me. I still drive down residential streets with my garage door remote in my hand to see how many garage doors I can open. Have been several. Shame one me, and at my age too.

That sounds like fun, I think I'll try it:D. My car has built in Homelink, which rocks.

My garage door opener requires you to be within a couple houses. My car requires you to be, oh...within the vicinity of 3 or 4 streets :D :D

Don't they have leash laws in your building? I keep my mice on a tether for a reason.

I broke the G-key on my laptop keyboard. It's so fiddley and stupid to try and get back in again! ARGHH!!! And they've got microscopically small springs in them. Bloody thing.... and just when I was halfway through setting Gentoo Linux up on it too!

Of course one could always use ALT + 103 for the g key!

I personally would love to buy another mouse. I just wish I could find one to fit my hands. I really hate the new mice that are out nowadays.

    Though, I prefer trackballs.
